Monthly recycling rate statistics

As part of our efforts to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill we collect statistics on a monthly basis which show how much of the waste that is collected is for recycling, how much is food waste, how much is garden waste and how much is waste that cannot be recycled.

These figures run from the beginning of April til the end of March.  In June 2009 the overall recycling rate increased by more than 22 per cent following the introduction of our new waste and recycling service and now averages around 70 per cent.
