Site inspections

At various stages during building work a council surveyor will need to inspect any work carried out to ensure it complies with current Building Regulations.

It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the work to contact Building Control and arrange these site inspections.

Contacting Building Control

If you contact Building Control before 10am we aim to inspect that same day or alternatively if you contact Building Control at least one day before you wish to arrange a site inspection, a scheduled appointment can be made. We attempt to deal with all reasonable requests.

It is important to notify us at key stages as failure to do so can result in prosecution and fines of up to £5000.  The council can also have any non compliant building work removed or rectified.

Please see the South and Vale parish map to find your dedicated surveyor .

For more information about the necessary inspections please see the Building Control Inspection guide.
