Supporting documents and evidence
The Science Vale Area Action Plan will be supported by strong evidence. We are currently preparing this evidence alongside the area action plan to make sure the plan's proposals are defensible and maximise the possibility of achieving our vision. As we are still at a very early stage in preparing our plan, we have a limited amount of evidence to publish, but we will update this page whenever a new study or document is available.
Throughout January and February we consulted on our Sustainability Assessment: Context and Objectives Report. The sustainability assessment will help us identify important issues in Science Vale, and how our plan will affect them. The assessment will tell us how sustainable the proposals within our evolving plan are. It will also consider how we could further develop our proposals to further ensure sustainability is achieved.
This will fulfil the requirements of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations as required by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act and the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive.
We sought the opinions of three statutory, expert bodies on our Sustainability Assessment: Context and Objectives Report in January and February. These bodies were English Heritage, the Environment Agency and Natural England. We are in the process of updating this report based on their feedback and this will be published once we have taken their comments into account.
While we assess their comments, you can view the original report below. Please note, this may change based on comments from English Heritage, the Environment Agency and Natural England.
