Pyrton Neighbourhood Plan
Pyrton Parish Council is working on a Neighbourhood Plan. The process empowers local communities to help direct and shape the way their area grows and develops into the future. A neighbourhood plan will form part of the development plan, which helps to determine planning applications.
What's happening now?
On Thursday 14 March residents voted for the adoption of the plan. The official results were as follows:
- Votes in favour of adopting the neighbourhood plan (YES vote): 76 (98.7%)
- Votes against adopting the neighbourhood plan (No vote): 1 (1.3%)
- Turnout: 77 (49.04%)
Section 3 of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 gives neighbourhood plans full legal effect once they have passed their local referendum. A special Council meeting is schedualed for the 11 April to consider whether the plan should be made, so that it can continue to be part the development plan.
More information on the process is available on our Neighbourhood Planning home page.
