Goring Neighbourhood Plan
Goring Parish Council (GPC) is working on a neighbourhood plan. The process empowers local communities to help direct and shape the way their area grows and develops into the future. A neighbourhood plan will form part of the development plan, which helps to determine planning applications.
What’s happening now?
On Thursday 4 July residents voted for the adoption of the Goring neighbourhood plan. The official results were as follows:
- Votes in favour of adopting the neighbourhood plan (YES vote): 835 (62.9%)
- Votes against adopting the neighbourhood plan (No vote): 492 (37.1%)
- Turnout: 49.6%
Section 3 of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 gives neighbourhood plans full legal effect once they have passed their local referendum. Cabinet will consider on the 10 July whether the plan should be made, so that it can continue to be part the development plan. A Council meeting is scheduled for the 18 July to consider the recommendation from Cabinet.
