Berrick Salome Neighbourhood Plan
Berrick Salome Parish Council is working on creating a neighbourhood plan. The process empowers local communities to help direct and shape the way their area grows and develops into the future. A neighbourhood plan will form part of the development plan, which helps to determine planning applications.
What’s happening now?
The Council accepted the recommendation from Cabinet to make the Berrick Salome neighbourhood plan on 19 December 2019. The council’s decision statement and made plan will be published in due course.
On 24 October residents voted for the adoption of the Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan. The official results were:
- Votes in favour of adopting the neighbourhood plan (YES vote): 150 (94.3%)
- Votes against adopting the neighbourhood plan (NO vote): 9 (5.6%)
- Turnout: 59.5%
Section 3 of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 (as amended) gives neighbourhood plans full legal effect once they have passed their local referendum.
