Update July 2018 – Ruling on Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA)
Our Cabinet has deferred making a recommendation about adoption of the Benson Neighbourhood Plan while we seek further guidance about the impact of a ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union. The judgement is in relation to Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) and the way that screenings assessments are carried out. HRAS are part of EU obligations and we must conform. It is therefore important that we are fully aware of all of the ramifications of the ruling before we progress with the Neighbourhood Plan.
We are in contact with the parish council and parties involved in the Neighbourhood Plan and will continue to keep them updated.
The Court ruling can be viewed here. Please also see the (July 2018).
More information on the process is available on our Neighbourhood Planning home page. If you would like to discuss neighbourhood planning with a member of the team, please call us on 01235 422600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
