Benson Neighbourhood Plan

Benson Parish Council is working on creating a neighbourhood plan. The process empowers local communities to help direct and shape the way their area grows and develops into the future. A neighbourhood plan will form part of the development plan, which helps to determine planning applications. 

What’s happening now?

On Thursday 28 June 2018, residents voted for the adoption of the Benson neighbourhood plan. The official results This link will take you to an external website... were as follows:

  • Votes in favour of adopting the neighbourhood plan (YES vote): 1001  (93.1%)
  • Votes against adopting the neighbourhood plan (NO vote): 74  (6.9%)
  • Turnout: 1076  (35%)

On Thursday 23 August 2018, the district council resolved to make the Benson Neighbourhood Development Plan so that it continues to be part of the council’s development plan. The district council's decision statement and the made version of the plan will be published in due course.
