Oxford Brookes Wheatley Campus Masterplan

Following a council meeting held on Thursday 13 December 2012, South Oxfordshire District Council formally adopted the Oxford Brookes University Wheatley Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).  The masterplan sets out the university's aims and objectives for the future.  It sets out proposals for the redevelopment of both academic and accommodation buildings, business units and a conference centre.

Consultation documents

The adoption comes after a public consultation published in October 2012, conducted by Westwaddy adp on behalf of the university and supported by the district council.    The responses received as part of the consultation have been used to further develop the masterplan before the document was adopted by the council.  A report detailing the methods of consultation and how those comments were taken forward is available to view below:

Background to the previous consultation exercises

Oxford Brookes University is a significant employer in our district.  Support of redevelopment proposals for its Wheatley campus is referenced in our core strategy, showing the level of importance for these proposals.

In December 2010 consultation took place on a proposed plan for the development of Wheatley campus over the long term.  Work has since been undertaken to update and develop these initial proposals further.  This latest consultation is an opportunity to gain feedback on this most recent work.  Once the consultation has concluded and any necessary revisions undertaken, the council will look to see if the plan can be adopted as a supplementary planning document.
