Green spaces in our district 

This consultation is now closed.  Thank you to all of you who took the time to respond to this consultation.  We are now analysing the results.  The strategy looks at how future developments can plan for and utilise green space to provide multi-purpose networks across the district.   The strategy known as a Green Infrastructure Strategy (GI Strategy) will also make use of existing green spaces in the district.  The strategy will provide a framework of standards and recommendations that once coordinated and delivered should lead to a better quality of life for us all.

Consultation period

The consultation is now closed and ran from 4 January - 1 February 2010.  We will be putting summaries of the comments submitted to us on the website in the near future.

• Reducing crime and the fear of crime
• Improved quality of life
• Helping to provide a sense of community and local identity
• Providing opportunities for leisure and recreation
• Provide community resources for real community involvement and learning.
