The Retail and Leisure Needs Assessment is one of the key evidence bases being used to support the development of our core strategy.

The Retail and Leisure Needs Assessment, has finally been completed.  The assessment undertaken by consultants Roger Tym and Partners is one of the key evidence bases being used to support the development of our core strategy. 

Some of the key issues highlighted in the assessment show that the only centre in South Oxfordshire that is achieving a notable market share for comparison goods shopping is Didcot.  However, all of the four towns have shown to be relatively successful at retaining expenditure within the food and drink sector. The study recognises that our four towns can not continue in their present format, or develop further without important steps being taken.  A number of recommendations have been put forward, which you can view in the assessment.
