Job opportunities at the May 2019 elections

We are currently appointing staff to work at the 2019 Local Elections and have a few vacancies available for roles listed below.  Please click on the following links to find out more: 

Eligibility 

To work in a polling station or at an overnight count you must be over 18. 

Postal vote openers and daytime count assistants must be over 16.

If successful, before you start working, you will need to provide either:

  • your valid passport, or
  • your birth certificate and proof of National Insurance Number (eg. P60, P45, payslip, etc).

Please also note:

  • Polling and count staff must not work on behalf of a candidate during an election campaign, nor be related to a prospective candidate – please see the job description for further details.
  • Polling and count staff must consent to working in excess of the normal working hours provided for by the Working Time Directive.
