Pest control

The council provides a pest control service (charges apply) at domestic premises only.  For more information about specific infestations see the links on the left or use the contacts on the right to order a service.

Unfortunately we are not able to deal with:

• ants
• badgers
• bats
• bed bugs
• bees
• birds
• cockroaches
• flies
• foxes
• moles
• moths 
• squirrels
• snakes

How long does it take?

You can usually expect a visit within five days, however, there may be a delay during times of increased demand for service.

The council has appointed a contractor, Total Pest Control (UK) Ltd to provide this service.

The charges including VAT are:

• rats and mice: £26.00 contribution - (unless the premises keeps animals that are not classed as domestic pets, for example, chickens, where a charge of £45 may apply)
• wasp & hornet nests: £45
• fleas: £85

Treatment is free only for residents receiving full housing and council tax benefits (unless the premises keeps animals that are not classified as domestic pets as above).
