South Oxfordshire District Council has two cemeteries in:
- Castle St, Wallingford, (A329) OX10 8LG
- Coopers Pightle, Kidmore End RG4 9AZ
The cemeteries have areas of consecrated and non-consecrated land.
The council also maintains closed churchyards on behalf of the diocese at:
- St Mary's, St Leonard's and All Hallows in Wallingford
- St Mary Magdalene in Crowmarsh Gifford
- St Margaret's in Harpsden
- St Nicholas in Forest Hill
- Old Church in Christmas Common
- St Mary's in Henley
- St Paul's in Culham
The council is responsible for digging graves and grounds maintenance including grass cutting, trees, shrubs, fences and hedges.

Arrangements in the event of a death
Families will usually arrange for either a burial or cremation through a funeral director. It will be at this time that a decision will be made on the preference for burial or cremation.
