Drainage and blocked sewers

From 01 October 2011, water and sewerage companies in England and Wales (Thames Water) are responsible for private sewers, which were previously the responsibility of property owners.

This means the ownership and the maintenance responsibilities for your private sewers and lateral drains have been transferred to Thames Water.
