Race relations

The council has a general duty to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation of people belonging to different racial groups.

A person race includes their colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins.

We are also required to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access our services and employment opportunities and to foster good relations between people of different racial groups.

Why not find out about some of the key religious festivals this year, join our ethnicity panel or find out about the work of the Embrace partnership by contacting our equalities officer using the information on the right.
