Market towns plans

The council works in partnership with the Town Councils and the business partnerships in each of the towns to produce an annual action plan for each town.  The action plan details all the projects that we are committed to delivering in each town that will support business, increase visitors to the town and enhance infrastructure.

The latest market town plans are published here.

Please not the Henley plan is in draft format and has not yet received formal approval.

Visitor survey

South Oxfordshire District Council commissioned Q & A Research to carry out a visitor survey for Henley, Thame and Wallingford to better understand who the 'customers' of the towns are and the role that they play in their economies. You can view a copy of this report and the specific town reports from the right.

Distinctiveness work

South Oxfordshire District Council commissioned Miller Research to support Wallingford, Thame and Henley to develop their unique selling points. The final reports can be downloaded below:

This information has been used to inform the 2010/11 action plans but will also support more long-term actions.

Building a town image

One of the direct results from the Miller Work has been the appointment of Capell Creative to support the creation of a marketing toolkit for each of the three towns. It offers local businesses and community organisations the ability to access logos, posters templates and photolibary to create standardised advertising material. For more information visit:
