Exciting race night coming to Didcot
Place your bets at an exciting race night on Friday 9 November, at Didcot Civic Hall, and help raise money for two great charities.
Cllr Lorraine Hillier, Chairman of South Oxfordshire District Council, is organising a charity horse racing night from 7.30pm with the first of eight races starting at 8pm.
Race goers will also have the opportunity for to ‘buy’ their favourite horse in each race and if it wins, not only do they get all their winnings, as owner they receive a celebratory bottle of prosecco.
Local businesses are getting involved too – Vogue Hair and Beauty and Kay Gee’s Off Licence are showing their support by sponsoring one or more races throughout the evening. A charity raffle will also be happening during the evening and will be giving away lots of excellent prizes.
Cllr Hillier said, “I’m really looking forward to the evening. The races are exciting to watch, and it is a wonderful way to raise money for two worthwhile charities, whilst everyone has a bit of fun.”
She added, “Everyone is welcome to attend, and we still have a few spaces left for businesses who would like to support one of the races.”
All proceeds from the evening will go towards the Chairman’s chosen charities - the Oxfordshire Citizen’s Advice Bureau and the Smallwood Trust, a charity that helps women in poverty.
Tickets cost only £12 per person and includes a tasty fish and chip supper. Contact Karen on 01235 422082 or email firstname.lastname@example.org by 2 November to buy your tickets or to sponsor a race.
