Henley swimmers benefit from refurbished changing facilities

Swimmers at Henley Leisure Centre are enjoying the use of refurbished changing facilities, thanks to a £150,000 upgrade from South Oxfordshire District Council.

The refurbishment work, which was completed just before Christmas, has significantly improved the pool-side changing and toilet areas. There are new changing cubicles, lockers and vanity units, while new LED lighting has been installed to help improve the environment and reduce the amount of energy the building uses.

Cllr Lynn Lloyd, Cabinet Member for Leisure at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “I’m sure all swimmers at Henley Leisure Centre will be pleased with the refurbishment to the changing area.  The work has made the facility much a much brighter and more welcoming area for people before and after they take a dip.  We are also working to improve the changing environment for those using the dry-side facilities such as the gym and squash courts.”
