Reminder of your yellow letter

Released on October 11, 2017

Last month we sent out yellow letters asking residents to confirm the details of the people living at your address.

We have had a great response so far with over 70 per cent of residents in South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils completing their forms.

However, we still need to hear back from over 30,000 households on who is living at their property.  We need this information to make sure everyone who is eligible to vote can do so in future elections.

To help prompt people to send this information back we’re have started to phone residents direct and are now sending out reminder letters.  You’ll know when you receive your letter – it has our logo on the envelope and the letter is on bright yellow paper.

Elizabeth Gillespie, legal and democratic services cabinet member for South Oxfordshire District Council said, “We are very pleased to have had such a good response so far, for which we are very thankful.  We are hoping that the imminent reminder letter and telephone calls to those who have not yet replied will prompt completion of the process.”

You must confirm your details, even if they haven’t changed. This is a legal requirement and by not responding could lead to a £1,000 fine.

Where possible please do this online – it’s quicker and easier and saves you lots of time.  You’ll need to visit and use the reference code included in your letter.

Please confirm your details now.  If you wait you are likely to receive a visit to your home early next month.
