FREE Exercise Classes and new courses on offer for women this August and September
Women across South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse can sign up to take part in free exercise sessions this August and September.
Vouchers, being provided by Active Women, are now available and offer the chance to take part in up to six free exercise sessions at The Park Club in Milton or Willowbrook Leisure Centre in Didcot.
Active Women encourages more women in Oxfordshire to take part in sport by providing social, fun, local and affordable sessions at various venues across the county. All sessions are suitable for beginners or people returning to physical activity or sport and are run by qualified coaches and instructors.
Sessions available are as follows:
The Park Club - Pilates, Body Vive, Studio Cycling, Yoga, F.I.T Zone Circuits, Body Pump, Core Blast, Body Attack, Body Balance, The Power Hour, Aqua Zumba, Super Circuits, Insanity, Fitness Yoga.
Willowbrook Leisure Centre - Studio Cycling, Yoga, Body Pump, Jump and Blast, Insanity, Core Blast, LBT and Kickboxing Fit Frenzy.
Please note, all exercise classes must be booked at least one day in advance. Vouchers are limited and given on a first come first served basis and you will only be able to participate in the classes up until 30 September 2016.
More Active Women courses in August and September
Active Women is also offering a number of courses elsewhere in southern Oxfordshire this August and September:
- Buggy-a-cise at Abbey Sports Centre – the perfect workout for new and expectant mums. Six week course on Wednesdays 11am to 12noon starting from 17 August. £3.70 (Better members) / £4 (non-members).
- Summer Zumba at The Beacon, Wantage – for mums and daughters aged 13 plus. Five week course on Wednesdays 11am to 12noon starting 17 August. £3.50 for both mum and daughter
- Beginners and improvers Badminton at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre, Abingdon – a great way to take up a new sport or improve existing skills. £4 per session. Six week course on Mondays 11.30am to 12.30pm starting 12 September.
Cllr Jane Murphy, Deputy Leader at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “If you’re a woman who’d like to get more active, have fun and make new friends then make sure you register to claim some free exercise sessions. Places are limited though so make sure you sign up today.”
Cllr Charlotte Dickson, Cabinet Member for Leisure at Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “We have courses that are specially tailored for new and expectant mums, and those which give mothers with older children the chance to exercise together. These courses provide a great social environment to enjoy sport and exercise again.”
