Christmas comes early to Wheatley as Park Sports Centre upgrade is completed
Wheatley’s Park Sports Centre now boasts a fully refurbished gym following a £133,000 upgrade.
New facilities include the latest state-of-the-art Technogym ‘Excite’ equipment that comprises treadmills, recline bikes, Vario units, crossovers and synchro machines offering a full cardiovascular workout. The centre also now has a newly revamped, air conditioned fitness studio.
The improvements were funded by South Oxfordshire District Council and GLL, which operates Better leisure centres, and are part of an ongoing programme to upgrade facilities across the district.
The newly refurbished facilities were officially opened by the council Chairman, Margaret Turner, on Wednesday 16 December 2015.
Councillor Anna Badcock,Cabinet member for leisure, arts, communications, health and well-being, and community safety at South Oxfordshire District Council,said. “The refurbishment and new equipment at Park Sports Centre is really impressive. I am sure this investment will not only attract new members from the local community, but enhance the experience for people using the centre.
