Book now for sport and fun all summer long
Young people in Southern Oxfordshire will get the chance to try their hand at a whole host of sports and activities this summer after the Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire District Councils announced their joint summer holiday programme.
Together with leisure operators and local sports clubs, the two councils are running holiday activities between Monday 25 July and Friday 2 September for young people up to and including the age of 18.
The activities on offer this year range from Monkey Mayhem play sessions for the very young to kayaking and trail riding for those who are slightly older. There are also a wide range of more traditional sports available such as athletics, football, netball and squash.
Bill Service, Cabinet Member for leisure at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “If your child is looking for things to do this summer then why not check out our holiday programme which really has got something for everyone. But remember, these sessions always fill up quickly so make sure you get you booking in as soon as possible to guarantee a place.”
Cllr Elaine Ware, Cabinet Member for Leisure at the Vale, said: “Our holiday programme offers a fantastic range of activities for young people led by fully qualified coaches and provides those taking part with the opportunity to have fun, try new activities, get active and make loads of new friends at the same time.”
