Leisure pass
There are two types of leisure pass – a standard leisure pass and a free leisure pass.
Standard Leisure Pass
For an annual fee, an individual or family can become a member of their nearest leisure centre provided by the Council. Holders of a Leisure Pass are exempt from paying the entrance fee to the leisure centres provided by the Council except Didcot Wave and the Thame Jubilee Pool which is provided by Thame Town Council. Leisure Pass holders will be charged the standard rate for participating in any activities whilst visiting the centres.
Holders will also recieve preferential booking (including phone booking) and certain discounts available at individual leisure centres.
Junior passes are available for those aged under 16. Anyone over 16 years of age and in full time education is entitled to a student pass. Anyone over 60 years of age is entitled to a senior citizen pass.
Free Leisure Pass
If you receive any of the benefits listed below and are a resident of South Oxfordshire, you can apply for a free leisure pass. This allows you to swim free of charge at Didcot Wave, Abbey Sports Centre, Henley Leisure Centre, Riverside Park and Pools and Thame Leisure Centre at designated times, and receive the benefits of a standard leisure pass. Please contact each centre for times.
Free leisure passes have to be renewed every three months with relevant documents (see below).
Pass holders are entitled to one free swim per weekday at any time at all the leisure centres except Didcot Wave which has time restrictions.
Swimming during
term time is allowed:
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (9am-4pm)
Wednesdays (9am-4.45pm)
Fridays (9am-4.00pm
and 6.00pm to 8.00pm)
And during school holidays:
Wednesdays (3:30pm-8pm)
Fridays (9am-8pm)

are subject to Didcot Wave's timetable, please contact the centre for information.
How do I apply for a leisure pass?
You will need to complete an application form and take it to any of the following leisure centres:
- Abbey Sports Centre, Berinsfield
- Castle Leisure Centre, Wallingford
- Didcot Leisure Centre
- Didcot Wave Leisure Pool
- Henley Leisure Centre
- Park Sports Centre, Holton near Wheatley
- Thame Leisure Centre
- Riverside Park and Pools, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford

Please bring with you the following:
- the required fee - if applicable
- proof of residency e.g council tax bill (if you are applying for a free pass)
- proof of receipt of the benefits listed below e.g. award notification, letter of entitlement, ES40 etc
- proof of date of birth e.g driving licence (if you are applying for a concessionary rate)
- student union card (if you are a student)
Free Leisure Pass Criteria
In order to process your application, you will need to bring one of the following items with you:
- Income Support Award Notification
- Job Seeker Allowance (income based) Award Notification or ES40
- Child Tax Credit Award Notification
- Working Tax Credit Award Notification
- Disabled Persons Tax Credit Award Notification
- Housing Benefit Letter of entitlement
- Council Tax Rebate Notice of Entitlement or bill showing benefit (Not student/single person rate)
To apply for a pass for another family member, you will need proof that the benefit covers all of your dependants e.g. a letter from the DSS showing their names.
Please take the completed application form to your nearest leisure centre. Please note lost cards will be replaced at a cost of £2.50 each.
