Rural Housing Partnership (ORHP)
South Oxfordshire District Council has joined forces with the other rural districts in Oxfordshire, the Countryside Agency, Housing Corporation and Oxfordshire Rural Community Council (ORCC) to form the Oxfordshire Rural Housing Partnership (ORHP). A consortium of Registered Social Landlords were also selected to join the ORHP.
How do ORHP help the rural community?
The intention is to work with parish councils to provide affordable housing in the parishes where local people wish to stay. The ORHP also intends to improve the process of liaison with landowners and to improve the design and quality of affordable housing provided in villages.
The Oxfordshire Rural Community Council offers impartial advice to parish councils and local people wishing to provide affordable housing in their villages through its Rural Housing Enabler, Anna Kennedy. Anna’s role is to help parish councils to conduct local housing needs surveys and to liaise with the Council’s planning and housing officers to find a suitable site and landowners willing to provide the land.
Anna can be contacted by telephone 01865 883488 or by email to Anna.kennedy@oxonrcc.org.uk
