Recycling and waste talks
What do you know about waste?
The Council provides a free service to educate or provide information about waste, recycling and litter for a range of age groups.
Officers are available to talk to groups of adults (e.g. Women’s Institute). These talks tend to be a short presentation followed by a question and answer session, but if you would like another format please ask.
Officers are also available to attend events, to hand out green recycling boxes, and information, and to answer questions.
What do your children know about waste?
The Council has a range of learning resources available for schools and community groups:
Officers are available to go into schools and teach children about litter, recycling and waste reduction. They provide activities or workshops catered to the age group that allow the children to have fun whilst they are learning. These can be in the form of assemblies or taught classes.
A schools CD ‘Recycling with Soxon’ is available. The CD has a video explaining the recycling process and a series of worksheets for teachers to print off. This CD can be used by anyone with an interest in waste related matters.
