Garden waste service

We provide a garden waste service with a fortnightly collection from a wheeled bin, for items such as grass cuttings, leaves, branches, weeds and hedge clippings.

The cost is £32 a year for the service.

There are two sizes of wheeled bin available:

• 240 litre
• 140 litre (recommended for people who do not create much garden waste)

We will collect your garden waste on the same day and time as your recycling.

You can put the following items in your bin:

• Weeds
• Grass
• Flowers
• Leaves
• Hedge clippings
• Branches(no more than 10 centimetres thick)
• Plants

But not these:

• Soil
• Bricks, stones and rubble
• Plastic flowerpots, trays or bags
• Food waste
• Pet waste
• Garden tools

Alternative service

In exceptional circumstances we may be able to offer garden sacks to residents that don't have room for a wheeled bin and meet specific criteria.

All the garden waste we collect is composted locally and used to improve local farmland.
