Community waste service
We provide community waste vehicles (skips) to collect domestic waste from the four main towns and nine rural villages in South Oxfordshire. This service is for larger items of household waste, such as broken furniture, that cannot be collected by the kerbside collection.
From the 2 May 2008 there will be a new collection schedule for the community waste service.

Please note, the community waste vehicles cannot collect household electrical items, garden waste or hazardous material such as paint and batteries.
Waste recycling centres (rubbish tips/skips/rubbish dump)
If the community waste vehicles become full before 12 noon, residents will be re-directed to the nearest waste recycling centre (rubbish tip), provided by Oxfordshire County Council.
Asbestos, car batteries, oil/oil cans, gas cyclinders, paint/paint tins and tyres can only be disposed of at one of the County's Waste Recycling Centres.
Fridges and freezers cannot be disposed of at the community waste vehicles, as they contain harmful CFC's which need to be removed before disposal. The Council can collect fridges and freezers from your home for a small fee.
If you are able to compost your garden waste at home or would to find out more about it follow this link.
How to dispose of unwanted electricl items
Our community waste vehicle serive will no longer collect electrical items, and we advise you not to dispose of these items through your normal rubblish collection. Our aim is to prevent electrical waste being landfilled and harming the environment. Find out about the other ways you can recycle your old electrical items.
