Local Development Framework
What is a Local Development Framework
The Government is changing the way planning policies are developed and delivered at the local level. At the district level, instead of one local plan, the council will produce a portfolio of policy documents, which together will be known as the local development framework.
The individual documents will contain different types of policy and will be prepared at different times, so that planning policies will be more up-to-date and more easily reviewed than the local plan.
For more details of what documents we are going to produce and when please look at our Local Development Scheme, which sets out our timetable for procuding documents.
