Dangerous structures
A dangerous building or structure is any part of a building or structure that could pose a danger to members of the public, including:
- Loose or falling roof tiles
- Walls or fences that are in danger of collapse
- Unstable chimneys
- Buildings damaged by fire or vehicle collision
Responsibility
The owner
of a structure is responsible for preventing or removing any danger to the public in or around the structure.

The building control team are available to deal with dangerous structures during normal working hours (8:30 to 17:30 Monday to Thursday and 8:30 to 16:30 on Friday). Outside these hours, please leave a message and we will be available to help on the next working day.

You can also report the problem online by following the link below. Please note, this form is only for reporting dangerous building structures and not for issues relating to roads or highways. To report a dangerous road or highway you will need to visit the County Council website.
