Forestry
The forestry team are part of planning and are responsible for:
- The management of trees on council land.
- The making of Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs).
- Dealing with applications for TPO and Conservation Area tree works.
- Acting as advisors to Development Management and Policy Planners where development proposals are likely to impact on significant or protected trees.

Works to trees - making an application
You must inform the council if you intend to carry out works to trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order or within a Conservation Area by filling in an application form.

Trees, Ecology and the Planning Process
