There are 48 councillors directing the work of the Council, elected by the voters of South Oxfordshire. Our elections are held every four years. Each councillor represents a ward in South Oxfordshire.
If you are not sure which ward you live in, please contact Legal and Democratic Services on 01491 823217 or email democratic.services@southoxon.gov.uk
All 48 members of the full council make decisions about the budget and main policies. Full council meets about six times a year. Committees of councillors make decisions on planning applications and licensing. An executive of eight councillors, known as the Cabinet, makes all other decisions. The Cabinet meets every month. Some councillors not in the Cabinet are members of the overview and scrutiny committees. These are responsible for its decisions and review our services and policies.Advice Surgeries
Your councillor(s) may hold local advice surgeries; please contact your local representative for details.
