Economic development
The council aims to help make South Oxfordshire one of the most economically successful, and environmentally and culturally sustainable, rural areas in the country.
Corporate priorities
Supporting economic growth:
- support creation of vibrant market towns
- promote business growth and creation of new jobs
Transforming Didcot:
- plan for the expansion of Didcot as a major centre of population and employment in Southern Oxfordshire
- develop a thriving town centre with a wider range of facilities
Economic Development Framework and Action Plan
The South Oxfordshire economic development framework and action plan covers the period between 2010 and 2013 and outlines the economic activity in the district over this period.
Whilst the council takes the lead on implementing the action plan, it works with all stakeholders in the district, including businesses, individuals and other partners to ensure effective delivery. A steering group of stakeholders has been established to implement and review the framework and action plan. These steering group members are ambassadors of the action plan within the wider business community.
The framework and action plan are available to download from the right hand side of this page. Feedback and comments can be sent to economic.development@southoxon.gov.uk These will be considered as part of the annual review process.
