Applying for benefit

You will need to fill in a form to apply for benefit.

All applications for housing and council tax benefit must be in writing. Please ensure when you send in your application you supply all of the requested information and evidence required to assess your claim.

We can only normally award benefit from the Monday after your claim has been received so don't delay - send off your application today!  In some cases benefit may be backdated.  You can find out about backdating benefit from our website.

If you are thinking of renting from a private landlord you can obtain a Pre-Tenancy Determination (PTD) form from us at the above address.
