Didcot Town Centre Supplementary Planning Document

Council Adopts town centre planning guidance

The Didcot Town Centre Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is a planning document that provides planning guidance to aid the development of the Didcot Town Centre.  It sets out the council’s vision and strategic development principles for the expansion of the town centre.  Anyone considering carrying out new development in Didcot Town Centre should read this document.

The guide is a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and as such, is a material consideration in all planning decisions which involved building work.  It carries considerable weight in decision-making, having been subject to scrutiny and amended through the public consultation process.  Proposals that do not follow the Didcot Town Centre SPD will need to be justified in a supporting statement.

Adoption

Following a four week public consultation in April 2009 on the Didcot Town SPD, South Oxfordshire District Council has adopted the planning document as of 7 May 2009.
