Leisure and countryside
Riverside Meadows
Riverside Meadows lies immediately to the south of Wallingford Bridge, which is a scheduled ancient monument within the Chilterns, and contains 3 known important archaeological sites. The area also hosts the annual Wallingford Regatta and Raft race.
The council purchased land at Riverside Meadows in 2001, to safeguard the site from the threat of development.
South Oxfordshire District Council and the Northmoor Trust jointly manage the Meadows. We have included interpretation boards with information about the Meadows. Please take notice of the guidance given on these signs. If you have any questions about the site then contact the site warden on 01865 409410 or alternativeley visit the Northmoor Trust Local Sites and Nature Reserves information pages.
