Treasury management

Treasury management is the management of the council's cashflows, its banking, money market and capital transactions, the effective control of the risks associated with those activities and the pursuit of optimum performance consistent with those risks.

Each year the council is required to approve the treasury management strategy for the coming year. The council is also required to produce an outturn report at the end of each financial year to ensure that adequate monitoring and reporting of the treasury management activities.
